Hostname Module

The hostname module displays the name of your computer, your username, and your IP address.
If you have multiple IP addresses, the module usually picks the displayed IP in the order WAN address - LAN address - 127.0.0.1, although some people have reported that the LAN address was used even though they had a WAN connection.

Version Module

The version module displays your Windows version, and optionally it's build number.

Uptime Module

The uptime module displays how long your computer has been running since it was last booted. The time displayed cannot exceed 49 days, 17 hours, 2 minutes and 47 seconds. This is the largest possible number of milliseconds that can be expressed with a 32 bit unsigned integer, which is what Windows returns. When this uptime is reached, the counter will simply restart at zero. Please note that this is not a bug in WinBar.
This module is refreshed once every second.

CPU Usage Module

The CPU usage module displays the percentage of time your processor is busy, along with an optional graph visualizing the usage of the past few seconds.
If you have more than one CPU, the number displayed is the average for all CPU's.
This module is refreshed once every second.

Memory Usage Module

The memory usage module displays the amount of free (or used) and total memory, along with an optional graph. Clicking the text will bring up the Task Manager for NT based systems.
This module is refreshed once every second.
Note: under any Windows version, the amount of total memory displayed may be one or two megabytes less than the actual amount. This seems to be a Windows problem. You can fix this by setting a memory size bias.

Disk Usage Module

The disk usage module provides an easily accessible overview of your harddisks' usage, including the amount of free and total space and a usage bar for each station as well as the grand total of all your stations. It can optionally include the network drives you mapped in the report.
The overview is regenerated each time it is shown.

Lock Keys Module

The lock keys module displays the status for each of the lock keys: Num Lock, Caps Lock and Scroll Lock.
Note: on Win9x systems, the status LEDs may not be updated until you mouse over them. This seems to be a Windows problem.

Battery Module

The battery module displays how much power you have left in your laptop's battery, and whether it is currently connected to an AC adapter.
This module is refreshed once every 10 seconds.

Resolution Module

The resolution module displays the current screen resolution and color depth of the primary monitor. Click the text to bring up a menu of available display modes. Select any display mode to directly switch to it.
Note: when switching screen resolutions, WinBar automatically selects the highest refresh rate that your monitor driver reports for that resolution. This may cause problems with default monitors, older monitors, and monitors that do not support DDC information. If you get a blank screen after switching resolutions, the reported refresh rate was too high for your monitor. Press R within 15 seconds after the resolution change to restore the previous mode.

Winamp Module

The Winamp module allows you to easily control Winamp playback. Mouse over the Winamp icon to display the currently playing song. Click the Winamp icon to show or load Winamp. Right-click the icon to bring up a menu of Winamp options.

Clock Module

The clock module displays the time, date, and day-of-week in a customizable format.
It also features an alarm clock, enabling you to play a sound, display a message and run a command either at a time you specify, or at a regular interval. You can access the alarm by clicking the clock icon, or the link in the Configuration dialog.

QuickLaunch Module

The QuickLaunch module allows you to start a program or open a document with a single mouse click. You can drag and drop files, folders and programs from Explorer to the QuickLaunch bar to add them. Right-click an item in the QuickLaunch bar to bring up an options menu, allowing you to remove the item.

Volume Module

The volume module allows easy control over the main volume. Click (and drag) the volume bar to change the main volume, or click the speaker icon to mute or unmute.
Note: some people have reported problems with certain soundcard drivers. If you experience problems, start WinBar with the -nosound argument to turn off the volume module altogether.

Tracker Module

The tracker module displays news headlines from your favorite site, optionally popping up a window when new articles are posted. Click on a headline to open the article. Right-click the icon to bring up an options menu. Any XML based tracker can be used. Visit winbar.nl for more information about tracker definitions.
The tracker module can be used with an HTTP proxy server. However, proxy authentication is not supported.
The tracker is refreshed every five minutes, but you may force a refresh at any time.
Note: the old Tweakers.net tracker module source code is available as a VB UserControl named TweakTracker. Check www.winbar.nl for more information, and to download.

E-mail Notification Module

The e-mail notification module alerts you when new mail arrives in a specified POP3 mailbox.
You can specify the interval at which the module checks the mailbox.
The icon can have three different colors: a normal, white envelope means idle, a blue envelope means busy, and a red envelope indicates that an error has occurred.
Note: the password for the e-mailbox is stored in the configuration file, along with all other settings. The encoding used serves only to make the password unreadable; you should not rely on it to keep your password safe. Do not give away your configuration file with your password in it.

Online State Module

The online state module allows you to set your ICQ and MSN state to online (O) or away (A) with a single mouseclick.
Note: the MSN state seems to be updated only when the main MSN window is not hidden; however, some people reported it did update. Experiment to see what it does on your system.

Time Synchronization Module

The timesync module synchronizes your computer's time with an NTP server on the internet. You can force a synchronization by clicking the LED, which like the e-mail icon, has three states: green means the last synchronization was successful, blue means busy, and red indicates an error has occurred.

Google Module

The Google module allows you to search the internet quickly using the Google search engine. Just type in your search and hit Enter. You can specify additional arguments to be appended to the URL. For example, &hl=en will set your language to English.

DU Meter Module

The DU meter module monitors network traffic on selected interfaces and displays the current speed in kilobytes or megabytes per second. It also counts the total amount of data that has passed these interfaces. Mouse over the DU meter module icon to view these totals. You can reset them in the popup menu or the configuration dialog.
