Update Check
WinBar can check on the Internet whether an update is available. In the configuration dialog,
click the Update button. Click the Check link to start the update check. You may click the
Cancel button at any time to cancel the update process.
If there is a newer version available, the dialog will show an Update link, along with the
number of files that will be updated and their total size. The dialog may also show some
internet links to information regarding the update as well as some notes.
If you click the Update link, WinBar will begin downloading the new files. If a file cannot be
downloaded or is corrupted during the download, WinBar will display an error message allowing
you to either cancel the entire update process, retry the download of the current file, or
ignore the error and move on to the next file. Note that if you choose ignore, not all files
(and possibly the program itself) will be updated!
Once all files have been downloaded, you will be prompted whether they should be installed.
If you click OK, the files will be overwritten, and, if the program itself needs to be updated,
WinBar will restart.
The update function can be used with an HTTP proxy server; the proxy entry in the General
tab is used.
